Movement Calendar

This movement calendar is a resource for our community, to help people find ways to plug into actions and events, support organizers in getting the word out about their actions and compile important dates in our political and economic landscape to help with planning and strategy development. Events on the calendar were compiled from social media, email blasts and community submissions. Unless it’s otherwise stated, the Movement Infrastructure Project did not organize these actions or events and including them here is not an endorsement of these events.

Submission Guidelines

  • Help people in our community make informed decisions about which events they want to participate in by including as much information as possible in your posting. Who is hosting or organizing? What will happen there? Are there action agreements or guidelines about how folks should plan on participating? What measures are in place to ensure that the event is accessible to everyone (interpretation, wheelchair accessible spaces, etc)?

  • This calendar is open to the public so please only include events that should be publicly announced and are open to a wide audience. This is generally not a good place to list your organization’s internal meetings.

  • We know that in social movement work things often change. Please let us know ASAP if you decide to cancel, move or reschedule your event. Because recurring events are particularly susceptible to cancellation without notice, we ask that you only post three occurrences at a time. If your recurring event is still happening after three occurrences, come back and add the next three to the calendar.

  • Only include calls to action like call in days, or events asking people to take action on their own (write a letter, cancel your membership, etc) if you plan to do a substantial amount of organizing to make the action happen.

  • The Movement Infrastructure Project built and maintains this calendar as a resource for our movement. While inclusion in this calendar is absolutely not an endorsement of an action or event, we do retain the right to exclude events that are inconsistent with our organizing principles.
